A brief description of the sustainability trainings and professional development opportunities available to staff :
Sustainability trainings are offered during Earth Week, Campus Sustainability Day, and Science Seminars. For Earth Week 2014, there were presentations on climate change, extinctions, melting ice caps and glaciers, hydrogen power and finding common ground on environmental issues. On Campus Sustainability Day 2014, there was a talk about how to reduce energy usage at home. In fall 2013, there was a Science Seminar about global water issues. There are also numerous diversity workshops, such as the LGBT Ally Program Training Workshop during fall 2014.
