A brief description of the assessment(s):
RVCC's Institutional Research department has conducted a graduating student survey twice annually since 2005. The results of the surveys are posted in a shared location for employees to access. There are four questions about diversity. RVCC also conducted a campus climate survey (NCHEMS – National Center for Higher Education Management Systems) in fall 2009. One question addressed diversity two questions addressed equity.

A brief description of how the results of the assessment(s) are used in shaping policy, programs, and initiatives:
The assessment data is available to the Dean of Multicultural Affairs for the shaping of policy, programs, and initiatives. This data also influenced the inclusion of diversity as a strong focus in RVCC's strategic plan. In particular, Strategic Driver #1 address the objective to increase college responsiveness to changing demographics, to growing diversity, and to change needs in the community. Following the goals of the strategic plan, RVCC established the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
