Yes
Does the institution have a policy, plan, and/or strategies to reduce stormwater runoff from ongoing campus operations? :
Yes
A brief description of the institution's stormwater management initiatives:
New construction projects will have rain water capture of some form wherever feasible. Water could be filtered and stored for use in building toilets, as is planned for the new student center. A rain garden could be built on the roof of new or existing buildings, and plans are in progress for our first green roof.
RVCC has implemented stormwater management projects as part of the campus River Friendly certification, which was awarded in June 2011. RVCC built a rain garden to filter stormwater and has a rain barrel to capture water from one of the buildings. This water is used to water planted areas on campus. Other projects have focused on reducing erosion and creating streamside buffers. Follow the article link for details.
