Park View Community Mission is a local nonprofit that supports the Randolph College Food Pantry in solving the community's food insecurity issue. Park View supplies Randolph College with a weekly donation of canned food, pantry food, fresh produce and personal hygiene supplies such as feminine care products. Since the area surrounding Randolph College (downtown Lynchburg)is considered a food forest, this partnership with Park View Community Mission has been helping with making food and household items more accessible. This partnership has been helping alleviate financial stress on students, faculty, staff and members of the community, and help provide access to healthy organic food.

A brief description of the institution’s formal community partnership to advance sustainability (3rd partnership):

Randolph College is an active participant in the City of Lynchburg's Bee City Committee. This council brings together members of the community to help increase pollinator spaces and no-mow zones around the city. Recently, the city of Lynchburg has been "built up" and huge construction projects are being initiated. This group meets each season to try to conserve and protect greenspaces in the city. There are other local colleges that are a part of this community group, so it is also beneficial for Randolph College to collaborate with other higher education institutions to promote local sustainability initiatives.
