Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Commitment to make a new buildings LEED certified

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

Our Board of Trustees has adopted a formal policy requiring all new construction to be LEED certified illustrating our commitment to sustainable infrastructure. This committment is being carried out. In 2024 our Recreation and Wellness Center was certified as LEED Gold. This is the first new building after this committment. This has continued with the next three buildings as part of our new South Quad development are all in the process of being certified under LEED.

While certain aspects of LEED certification are covered in various parts of the STARS report, the committment to make all new construction LEED certified is above. Since none of these newest buildings have been LEED certified yet, none of that is captured in this STARS report. This is a significant investment in sustinability that will have dramatic impacts far into the future.
