Quinnipiac is working with Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) to create a protection plan for the Quinnipiac trail which partially runs through campus. Quinnipiac is in negotiations with CFPA to determine the best type of agreement to protect the trail (conservation easement, contract, etc.). Currently the trail through campus is open to the public and ensuring its protection will also safeguard a community recreation space.

Quinnipiac donates excess food to Hamden residents through Haven’s Harvest, a nonprofit organization that currently provides food to those facing food insecurity throughout Greater New Haven district. The partnership serves to advance sustainability by reducing Quinnipiac's food waste and addresses the interdependence of ecological and social/economic systems.
