Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
"Ban the Bag!"

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
In an effort to continually reduce Principia College’s ecological impacts, including making every effort to eliminate single-use plastic, the Center for Sustainability partnered with the College Store to successfully ban single-use plastic bags at the College Store! Initially we proposed to use compostable bags (see attached proposal), but they're expensive and the students loved using them for other things ... so the store ended up using more carry bags than before. As a result, the Store manager decided to simply ban carry bags altogether. Customers now bring their bag to the Store. This process ended up being a really great education for Store management, and the message continues to resonate positively with the campus community.

Campus Enagement
