The Princeton Sustainability Committee (PSC) is a group of faculty, non-academic staff, and students that advocates for sustainable practices at all levels of the University. Led by the Executive Director of the Office of Sustainability and a Faculty Sponsor PSC plays a central role in developing the University's Sustainability Action Plan and informing the campus community about sustainability. The Committee also provides a unique forum for all campus stakeholders to share diverse perspectives and discuss the present and future of sustainability at Princeton.
The Capital Plan Sustainability Advocacy Committee (SAC) is a group of leaders across Princeton Facilities that funds sustainability projects across campus planning, design, and construction activities. Project managers present opportunities to SAC that go beyond Princeton's existing sustainability standards and possess both financial and environmental benefits. Princeton Sustainability Committee
The Princeton Sustainability Committee is led by Sarah Boll, Executive Director of Sustainability, and Professor Peter Jaffé. An advisory board within PSC acts as a decision-making body around sustainability on campus and is comprised of student, faculty, and staff leaders. PSC also holds regular meetings open to the entire campus community.

The Office of Sustainability at Princeton University develops, coordinates, and supports the University's bold sustainability initiatives. The Office collaborates with students, faculty, staff, government offices, and the local Princeton community to promote sustainability efforts and practices. The Office is also part of a larger professional community promoting sustainability at other colleges and universities.

The Office of Sustainability and Princeton Sustainability Committee coordinate across all of Princeton University.
Office of Sustainability
- Co-lead a behavioral science energy conservation initiative that makes progress towards Princeton's Greenhouse Gas Emissions reduction targets. The Office of Sustainability, in collaboration with Campus Energy and the behavioral science firm Evidn, has identified high-energy consumption across campus and implemented campaigns to encourage conservation. Areas of intervention include heating and cooling in bookable rooms, building HVAC settings, and laboratory fume hood operations. (Academic Year 2023-Present)
- Facilitated the inclusion of bird-safe glass standards into the University's Design Standards Manual. (Academic Year 2025)
- Developed and implemented a series of university-wide sustainability projects across departments in coordination with the Office of the Executive Vice President. Projects such as a Green Labs Program, an HR sustainability training video, and a plant-based eating challenge were given seed funding and Office of Sustainability support to facilitate implementation. (Academic Year 2024)
Princeton Sustainability Committee
- Currently engaged in the preliminary stages of updating the University's Sustainability Action Plan. The new iteration will include updated goals, strategy, and tactics and reflect on how the University has performed against previous Sustainability Action Plan goals to date.
- Held monthly information-sharing sessions to spotlight sustainability initiatives across campus. These events brought together students, faculty, and staff to learn about the University's transition to EV buses, energy conservation, and student engagement among other topics.
