Over the past three years, the Princeton Office of Sustainability has hosted an Environmental Justice Workshop to inform staff about the EJ movement. Led by renowned environmental justice theorist and activist Running Grass, the workshop covered the history of Environmental Justice, defined key concepts, and most crucially, helped attendees identify actionable ways to incorporate environmental justice into their work. The workshop also served as an inclusive space for staff members from different backgrounds and professions to speak honestly about identity and associated issues. This initiative reflects Princeton's efforts to foster a more sustainable and inclusive workplace.
The Office of Sustainability hosts the monthly Princeton Sustainability Committee (PSC)--a multi-stakeholder community for information-sharing, new idea generation, collaborative problem-solving, and the development of policy and practice recommendations. Each session includes a presentation from a subject matter expert on a sustainability issue and an open discussion. Meetings are open to all and are an opportunity to learn about sustainability and get involved on campus.
