Documentation
Do the figures reported above cover one, two, or three academic years?:
A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
A full list of Princeton AY 23-24 courses was manually coded as sustainability-focused or sustainability-inclusive. An Excel formula was used to query all courses that contained one or more AASHE-suggested keywords. Course descriptions and syllabi were then used to determine applicability. A pivot table provided the data needed for this section.
The number of Departments with a sustainability course was determined by manually scanning the attached spreadsheet.
The Assistant Director of Sustainability performed the analysis. Results were then reviewed by another Office of Sustainability employee.
How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted:
We count each time a course is offered as a separate course, so if a course is held once in the fall term and once in the spring term, then it is counted as two courses. The same goes for sections. If a course has two sections, then it is counted twice.
