The following initiatives are underway:

Expansion of recruitment efforts for student positions through campus partnerships.

Expansion of outreach to internal and external partners to diversify our applicant pool for any open staff positions.

Partnering with Human Resources to write all Office of Sustainability job descriptions without biased language, including piloting the inclusion of environmental justice language in all Office student and staff job descriptions as a model for all University postings, and prioritizing a commitment to inclusivity throughout the entire hiring process.

Yes

A brief description of the DEI trainings for sustainability employees:
Princeton Human Resources provides DEI trainings that are available to any employee. The sustainability employees are encouraged to sign up for and track DEI trainings in shared spreadsheet.

Does the sustainability office regularly collaborate on events, projects, or initiatives with the institution’s DEI office/program and/or organizations that support underrepresented groups on campus?:
Yes

A brief description of events, projects, or initiatives during the previous year developed in collaboration with the DEI office/program and/or organizations that support underrepresented groups on campus:
The Office of Sustainability has worked with the DEI office to create a draft Environmental Justice framework and host an feedback session on the framework as well as discussion around land acknowledgement and other Environmental Justice topics. The Office has also hosted Earth Month events in collaboration with student organizations such as Natives at Princeton, Carl Fields Center for Equality and Cultural Understanding, LGBTQ Center and other affinity organizations that support underrepresented groups on campus. Other initiatives include social media campaigns that highlight these groups and raise awareness about Environmental Justice.
