Parental leave for faculty encompasses one semester per child, up to once per year, and without reduced regular pay. Leave must be taken within one year after the birth, adoption, foster, or guardianship placement.

Staff can also take a Leave of Absence per the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provisions for a maximum of twelve (12) weeks per year. However, this leave is unpaid unless staff use their vacation or sick days to compensate for the time away.
