11.1 Student wellbeing and assistance programs

We have school counselors available to students free of charge. Our on-campus counselor has an office on campus and is available for unlimited visits (with reasonable scheduling frequency). Online students can work with our teletherapy partner, UWill, which connects students with licensed counselors for free 30-minute discussions up to 12 times an academic year. This service is available 24/7, and 100% of users who requested same-day services were satisfied, including students in 40 states and 3 different countries. Moreover, students who requested counselors from a certain ethnic background had their requests met. Out of 814 feedback submissions in the last two years, students have rated Uwill consults with a 9.4/10 satisfaction rating.
CARE Team - The Care Team is a committee through the Dean of Student Affairs office. The mission of the Care Team is to provide support, care, and advocacy for students who need it. This includes internal referrals for struggling students or students that have expressed distress, providing direct engagement care for support, and resources for additional support that may be needed (UWill, counselors, local facilities). Any students, staff, and faculty can submit referrals to the CARE team.

Aunt Flow provides the campus with free feminine care products upon request - tampons and pads - stored in every campus bathroom, including dispenser boxes in gender-neutral restrooms.
Northland Cares is a local health and wellness organization that provides free sexual contraceptives (multi-gender), lubricants, and spermicides to the college, student housing (wellness office), and student activity center. These are accessible to students during the work week, and our goal is to add more confidentiality (drawers labeled as "health products") to increase student usage.
Sex Week is an annual educational and awareness week on campus for sexual health and wellness, title 9 training, awareness, free std testing, and other informational pamphlets.

Mindful Mondays is a weekly event at the Sustainability Center that includes free yoga, meditation, reflective journaling, and other contemplative activities. The event is student-led but can include guest speakers or visits from the school counselor.
Yoga classes are frequently offered on campus to students. Moreover, we have a teacher certification course each Spring and student-organized yoga are offered throughout the term

We partner with St Mary's Food Bank as a campus location. They provide monthly delivery of non-perishable bagged and boxed food and drinks, and these items are supplemented with shampoo, conditioner, care products, and academic products. The pantry is open M-F (10am-5pm) and is open to all students, employees, and community members.

The Employee Wellness Fair is an annual event where employees can receive free physical biometric testing from our local health department. There are also community health organizations that table at the fair and offer services to employees at discounted prices.
Standing desks, ergonomic mouses, chairs, and keyboards are available to employees upon request.
