Disability Services

Support is available through the ADA coordinator. Disability-related documents are kept confidential and shared with College personnel on a limited and need-to-know basis. The interaction between the disability and the academic environment will be explored to determine possible reasonable accommodations. Consultation with faculty, staff, and outside professionals regarding essential elements and reasonable accommodations will occur as needed. The ADA coordinator works with college personnel and students who request ADA-related accommodations to resolve disagreements regarding recommended accommodations. When needed, the ADA Officer is available to assist with the resolution of disagreements and to assure institutional compliance with the ADA. Students with disabilities who believe they have been discriminated against based on their disability may contact the ADA coordinator.

The Frantz Fanon Community Strategy Center (FFCSC) is a community organizing and mobilization project devoted to popular education, advocacy, and organizing. Their goals include:

  • Promoting a sense of community in a way that addresses injustices for Students of Color, LGBTQ+ Students, Indigenous Students, and other underrepresented student groups.
  • Helping attract and retain students by providing physical and virtual spaces that are social, appealing, accessible, safe, and nurturing for community strategizing efforts.

FFCSC held an all-day Racial Justice Teach-in in December 2024 to engage participants (students and employees) in foundational and critical conversations about racial justice. The goal was to foster understanding, accountability, and actionable pathways toward equity within and beyond our college community. Participants gained tools for identifying and challenging systemic inequities, strategies for accountability and allyship, and deeper insight into racial justice frameworks. It was a space to learn, reflect, and collaborate on building a more equitable and inclusive future.

Coaches track student success and meet with those struggling to understand how to best support their specific challenges. Often, this process involves the support of low-income and first-generation students who may struggle with academic success more than the college's overall student success rate.

Veteran and Military Family Club

Based on the interest of current students, Veterans & Military Family Club can provide a supportive community for students, friends, and family members of those who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. The club offers opportunities for networking, a place to meet and discuss ideas for addressing the needs of student veterans and dependents, and opportunities for team-building and community outreach. By cultivating this group, the Veterans and Military Family Club will adequately assist the Prescott College community in supporting and working cohesively with veterans, dependents, active duty, and reserve service members and their families.
