3.1 Student participation in governance
Narrative and/or website URL outlining the ongoing bodies through which students can democratically participate in the governance of the institution:
Student Union
Enrolled students can be elected to serve with the Student Union. Weekly SU meetings are the main forum for students to discuss and debate college issues and policies. College officials regularly attend the meetings. Members of SU work closely with the Student Events Coordinator. SU endorses and supports various activities and student-run organizations and is responsible for disbursing funds collected from student activity fees. Proposals to receive funding from SU for events, clubs, and senior projects may be submitted, and deadlines will be advertised via college e-mail.
Sustainability Council
The Sustainability Council is open to elected students serving and making decisions about sustainability events and projects on campus, including voting rights to support projects that apply for funding via the Sustainability Fund.

Surveys are another common mechanism to consult students on decisions or plans; however, there is generally a low response rate, and it is thus not the best method for acquiring a consensus of student voices.

Faculty Assembly
Monthly faculty assemblies provide a space for academic employees to discuss ongoing courses, student enrollment, changes in educational programs, and other curricular developments at the college. All faculty members are welcome to participate in assemblies to voice their opinions or concerns regarding the topics discussed at that monthly gathering. The agendas of faculty assemblies are set by representatives of the Faculty Leadership Council (FLC), which includes a handful of nominated faculty members.

Staff Assembly & Leadership Council
Monthly staff assemblies bring all non-academic employees together to discuss ongoing activities at Prescott College. This includes updates from Board of Trustee meetings, presentations from the President or Chief Financial Officer, or any other critical updates within the institution. All staff are welcome to participate in assemblies to voice their opinions or concerns regarding the pre-determined topics for that monthly gathering. The Staff Leadership Council (SLC) sets the discussion topics list, which includes a handful of nominated employees who serve two-year terms. Breakout rooms are standard in these meetings so that every staff member can voice their opinions, feelings, and concerns -- these can be brought to the main group afterward.
