The charter or mission statement of the CIR or other body which reflects social and environmental concerns or a brief description of how the CIR is tasked to address social and environmental concerns:
The purpose of the Finance Committee is to oversee the integrity of the College’s financial operations, long-term economic health, and allocation of resources. The primary responsibilities of the Finance Committee are (a) developing financial policies and metrics appropriate for the Board to measure the financial health of College, (b) monitoring financial performance, including compliance with all financial reporting requirements, (c) reviewing and recommending operating budgets, (d) reviewing and recommending plans for borrowing, (e) ensuring that accurate and complete financial records are maintained, (f) ensuring that timely and accurate financial information is presented to the Board, and (g) overseeing the Endowment and other investments and accounts.

Investment manager and individual security selection should take into consideration that the College is committed to principals of social and environmental responsibility. Specifically, each investment manager and individual security selection should:

1. to the extent practicable, avoid investment managers utilizing and investing in individual securities of companies whose income is derived from the production, sale, or distribution of tobacco, fossil fuels, firearms, land mines, or chemical agents used as weapons of war;
2. to the extent practicable, avoid investment managers utilizing and investing in individual securities whose underlying business involves the ownership or management of private prison or detention facilities;
3. to the extent practicable, give preference to investment managers utilizing and investing in individual securities whose underlying business has demonstrated a progressive approach to environmental issues including, but not limited to, waste disposal, recycling, and wise resource management; and
4. to the extent practicable, give preference to investment managers utilizing and investing in individual securities whose underlying business has demonstrated a progressive approach to social issues.
