A brief description of the institution’s sustainability projects fund:
Students pay $50 per semester as a fee which contributes to the Sustainability Fund. Originally, this fee was voluntarily created by students for the purpose of pooling resources that are solely used for sustainability improvements on campus or within the community. Currently, a portion of these fees is used to support our AmeriCorps Sustainability Coordinator, our Renewable Energy Credits, and other sustainability-related projects through the student Sustainability Fund. Students can also submit an application to access the Sustainability Fund for creating a sustainability-related project that will positively impact the campus and/or broader community. The funds can also be used by clubs for hosting sustainable events. The application is attached in the additional documents section.
A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:
The Sustainability Council - consisting of several faculty/staff members and students engaged in sustainability on and off campus - evaluates applications with a semi-structured rubric. The rubric is used as a guide to consider the cohesiveness, feasibility, and planning of the project or event. It is also used to estimate the potential impacts the project/event could have on campus and/or on the broader Prescott community.
