A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
When in person, a half-day new employee orientation takes place twice each month. During orientation, a representative from the Campus Sustainability Office speaks to the group for 15 minutes and presents a Powerpoint highlighting general sustainability concepts, the University's sustainability goals, sustainability programs on campus, and a brief "what you can do" section highlighting actions faculty and staff can take. All new employees can sign up for the monthly Sustainability at PSU newsletter and ask questions. During COVID-19, the Campus Sustainability Office created a recorded version of the presentation which all new employees are given access to, instead of a live presentation.
Additionally, sustainability information and resources have been incorporated into the online Human Resources new employee on-boarding materials.
