A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
For FY19, PSU updated its methodology for assessing sustainability-focused and -inclusive classes in our course inventory. PSU is moving toward assessing ourselves more broadly against Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and our inventory assessment reflects this. Courses that met AASHE's criteria for Sustainability-Focused were marked as such. Courses that met an SDG goal were marked as Sustainability-Inclusive.
PSU obtained a full list of all courses for FY19 Fall, Winter, and Spring terms (summer was not included). From that complete list, PSU generally excluded individually-directed courses, courses with four or fewer students, courses that are strictly practice-oriented. PSU counted each section (occurrence) of a course as an individual course. Similarly, cross-listed courses were counted as separate courses.
