A brief description of the program(s), (s), including availability, participation levels, and specifics about discounts or subsidies offered (including pre-tax options):
More PSU students and employees use public transit to reach campus than any other mode of transportation. And for good reason -- PSU is located at the heart of the TriMet transit system with stops for the Portland Streetcar, two MAX light rail lines, and 15 bus routes. Transportation & Parking Services offers special discounted passes for students (FlexPass) and faculty/staff (Passport) thanks to a shared subsidy between Trimet and PSU. TriMet Student FlexPass Program The Student FlexPass is a partially-subsidized pass for use on the regional transit provider, TriMet. The FlexPass is valid for use on all TriMet buses, MAX light rail trains, Portland Streetcars, C-Tran local service buses (non-Express), and the OHSU aerial tram. It is valid for 3 months at a time, which covers the entire academic term. Ride anywhere you want, anytime because the more you use it, the more you save. The quarterly cost of the FlexPass is roughly 30% off TriMet's retail price! http://www.pdx.edu/transportation/transit-for-students Portland Streetcar is FREE for all PSU Employees! All PSU Students and Employees are allowed to ride the Portland Streetcar system for free. You must have a valid PSU ID card in order to ride, and be currently employed at PSU. Click here for a map of the Portland Streecar network. PSU Employee Passport Program Faculty and staff members may purchase a TriMet or C-Tran annual Passport, a discounted year-long transit pass. Benefits-eligible employees may request the cost of the Passport be deducted directly from their monthly pay. To enroll in the Passport program, visit our office in person with your PSU photo ID. TriMet Passport Valid Sept 2013 - August 2014 Total cost is $517; cost pro-rates beginning October 1 Payroll deduction is $47 /month for 11 months (Oct-Aug) Valid for use on TriMet buses, TriMet light rail, Portland Streetcar, OHSU aerial tram You must agree to the terms and conditions (DOC) C-TRAN Express Passport Valid Sept 2013 - August 2014 Total cost is $902; cost pro-rates beginning October 1 Payroll deduction is $82/month for 11 months (Oct-Aug) Valid for use on C-Tran Express buses, TriMet buses, TriMet light rail, Portland Streetcar, OHSU aerial tram You must agree to the C-TRAN terms and conditions (DOC) http://www.pdx.edu/transportation/transit-for-employees
