Description of the methodology used to gather data about student commuting:

A survey was administered by the Westside Transit Alliance and in person by PCC transportation staff at the college's main four campuses in the Fall of 2022. It was also posted in in public places for people to complete. Data was collected through survey monkey.

1559 students responded. Students could choose multiple modes of transit. Despite the fact that 58% of trips were shown as drive alone, 509 of the responses to the question if you plan to drive alone were N/A, meaning that 48% of students were taking more sustainable cmmuting methods to campus. Raw data was recompiled in order to get a more accurate count for more sustainable commuting options.

Description of the methodology used to gather data about employee commuting:

2023 survey of 460 staff (77.6% response rate : 356/460 people). Affected employee commute population was 3,416. (FTE is smaller than commute size).

At this point in time 33% of staff and faculty were telecommuting.

Survey data was gathered by email by the Westside Transit Alliance Fall of 2023. It was all announced on the college's internal webpage for employees and follow-up emails were sent to employees.
