The RC Sustainability team produces a sustainability newsletter highlighting campus practices and achievements in sustainability. Our Sylvania Environmental Center also produces a newsletter that discusses sustainability events, news, initiatives, and eco tips.

Many of our LEED buildings have green building signage, highlighting things like resource-saving features, green roofs, renewable energy and others. We are also in the process of upgrading and expanding our educational signage as well as including occupant tips.

A brief description of the signage and/or brochures that include information about sustainable food systems:

Dining Services highlights some of the sustainable features of their products including those that are fair trade and locally-sourced with signage. We also have Meatless Monday promotional signage with facts on meat consumption and its associated environmental and social impacts.

At Rock Creek, we have detailed signage for our pre-consumer waste collection system as well as how our learning gardens grow produce for use in our cafeterias. At our Sylvania campus, we have signage around efforts to procure at least 30% of our food from sustainable sources. There is signage at all of our campuses advertising some of the sustainable vendors, such as coffee.

Signage regarding sustainable grounds practices can be found around the campuses. We have signage regarding rain gardens & other stormwater mitigation infrastructure, pollinator habitat signage, pesticide free zone signage & Bee Campus/Tree Campus signage

On our Sustainability web page, we have an interactive map highlighting sustainable building attributes, art installments, learning garden features, earthen buildings, natural areas, renewable energy, rain gardens & our Southeast food forest, among others.

Our Parking and Transportation department details our intra-campus shuttle system, alternative transportation options and carpooling and biking incentives for students, faculty and staff. Many offices that participate in the Green Team program post the alternative transportation options available in their offices.

Portland offers a plethora of options for bike routes. We have maps that highlight the most efficient bike routes relating to PCC Campuses and Centers.

We have Active Transportation Coordinator who helps provide resources to those who currently bike and/or want to bike to campus.
