"Pomona College, for the past many years, has participated with the Claremont University Consortium's Human Resources Council (HRC) in a comprehensive wage and salary program. The Consortium's process reviews and recommends to the Claremont Colleges Council of Presidents, in an annual report, its recommendation for wages within the Consortium. Each participating College may or may not adopt the recommendation from the HRC. This review is performed annually. Pomona College has adopted the HRC recommendation that it pay at least at the Los Angeles County prevailing wage for any of its lowest paid positions. As of this writing, the Los Angeles County's prevailing wage is $9.64 per hour. This wage is the minimum for the first range of the wage and salary program. This review is performed annually or updated mid-year if Los Angeles County changes its prevailing wage mid-year. Effective July 1, 2010, by authorization of its Board of Trustees, Pomona College is now committed to paying at the 25th percentile of each of the salary ranges for each position in the College which thereby increases the minimum threshold of salary to $10.60 per hour. The College also offers 100% of tuition for employees in a matriculated degree program and up to 50% of undergraduate tuition for employee spouses, registered domestic partners, and dependent children.
