A brief description of steps taken to ensure that e-waste is recycled responsibly, workers’ basic safety is protected, and environmental standards are met:

The College uses TRI Products, Inc. (http://ewaste4u.com/), a California State approved electronic waste recycling center. State regulations determine what commodities can be recycled and how they are recycled. TRI uses local labor at their Arcadia, CA facility to dismantle, consolidate, and ship recovered materials to manufacturing facilities around the globe. In April 2010 a small group of students researched their practices and visited their site, where they received a full tour and explanation of their practices and determined that TRI was a competent organization to use for the collection and recycling of ewaste.
