Throughout the 2010-2011 academic year, Pomona College hosted a number of sustainability events, sponsored by academic departments, student groups, the student government, and administrative offices (Office of Student Affairs, Office of the President). Events included: the People | Places | Spaces, the Second Annual Sustainability Film Festival; Van Jones "Beyond Green Jobs"; Captain Charles Moore on plastic wastes in the world's oceans; Edward Wilson "Earthwatch: Citizen Science in the Next Decade"; Sam Arons "Sustainability at Google"; Carolyn Merchant "From the Control of Nature to Partnership"; Mark Winne "Food, Freedom, and Authority: Who Will Control the Food We Eat?" and many, many others.
