A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:
Polytechnique Montréal is located on Mount Royal, which is officially recognized as an Historic and Natural Heritage District. The main campus comprises three buildings: the Pavillon principal (Main Building), which was built in 1956, and the two Lassonde Buildings, which opened in the fall of 2005. Polytechnique’s Lassonde buildings were the first Canadian university buildings to be certified accotding to the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold international certification.
Polytechnique Montreal is affiliated with Université de Montréal (University of Montreal, or UdeM), which is also located on Mount Royal, and manages nearly all the grounds and other buildings on campus. When Polytechnique does not manage the buildings (i.e since 2004, Polytechnique and UdM share use of the J.-Armand-Bombardier, rented shops or offices), those spaces are excluded from the boudaries considered for this report.

Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? | Included? | |
Agricultural school | No | No |
Medical school | No | No |
Other professional school with labs or clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) | No | No |
Museum | No | No |
Satellite campus | Yes | No |
Farm larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres | No | No |
Agricultural experiment station larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres | No | No |
Hospital | No | No |
The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:
Polytechnique Montréal also uses small satellite campuses in rented offices across Montreal, but they were excluded from the boundaries for the Operations criteria because Polytechnique does not manage the operations of those rented spaces.
