Furthermore, students have access to a tool called “Aller mieux” (Get better). “This personalized tool helps you to more clearly identify what you are already doing to get better, and then to plan actions to take care of your mental health.” Students are also invited to participate in an initiative “Pause ton écran” (Pause your screen) for a well balanced way to use internet, it provides a tool to assess the habits and to provide solutions. Many links to outside resources are also provided for students. In addition, students can choose to enroll for health, dental, and eye insurance for a very accessible fee per semester.

The program “Pour mieux s’épanouir” (Towards better fulfillment) is an improved wellness program for all employees (academic and non-academic staff). It is a broad program with the slogan: personal life, health, work: go from concerns to solutions! More complete than ever, this practical and versatile program is available anywhere, anytime. Throughout the year, employees and their family members can consult qualified professionals: in person, by telephone or by video conference. Something to make employees' lives easier! The following is a list of themes that can be addressed: work - stress management, career development, communication and conflict resolution, performance, adapting to change, work-life balance, health (mental and physical), addictions, food and nutrition, lifestyle change, sleep, and personal life - relationship problems, family affairs and parenting, life events, grief and loss, legal assistance, and financial counselling. https://www.polymtl.ca/srh/epanouir

All employees have access to a telemedicine service, to the Health and Psychological Counseling Center, to a virtual training platform, to the sports center of Université de Montréal - an affiliated school on campus, public transit at a reduced price, annual flu vaccination, and conferences on various subjects about wellness and wellbeing.

Moreover, “Qualité de vie au travail” (Program for Quality of Life at Work) was established in 2005 to promote wellness. This program provides $150 towards enrollment in an activity chosen by the employee, whether it be in sports, arts, or culture, or to develop healthy lifestyles. Depending on the budget and the number of applicants, up to three activities per year may be refunded to each employee. Several lunchtime courses were offered within Polytechnique’s facilities, including Insanity, cross-training, zumba, yoga, and pilates before the COVID pandemic and will resume when the current sanitary measures allow it. Wellness days are held for the entire community, students and employees alike. Depending on the year, these can include massage stations, pet therapy, mindfulness meditation, balance (nutrition and sport), board games, Lego blocks, and mandalas.
