Entrepreneurship became a strategic priority in 2018 for Polytechnique Montréal. In October 2019, the Bureau de soutien à l'entreprenariat (Entrepreneurship Support Office) began its operations. The goal was to internalize the support of entrepreneurship, creating a dedicated team to better respond to the needs and vision of Polytechnique's community and build on its strengths. The Office has a strong orientation towards high-impact entrepreneurship for society and sustainability, reflecting the mission of the institution and the orientations taken in the Institutional Research Plan. Different paths are available either to Polytechnique's community or open to entrepreneurs outside the institution; several of them illustrate the commitment to sustainability: sustainable mobility - 11 business projects; clean tech - 16 business projects; cybersecurity - 9 business projects. Here is a quote from the Office director which translates the vision of the place of sustainability in entrepreneurship: "Entrepreneurship is an extraordinary way to change the world, in your own way and according to your values. A space of freedom where audacity and creativity have their place. A way to have a concrete impact: economic, social, technological or environmental..."
