Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Hybrid Internship in Sustainable Development
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
This innovative initiative started during the COVID pandemic when we anticipated that fewer employers would be offering internships to students. This internship comes with sustainable development assistance and training offered to the interns and to the organisations' intern supervisors. This assistance and training include:
- access to a 5-hour Sustainability Training (around 45 video capsules) entitled Engineering, Environment and Sustainable Development, made available for interns and the organisations' intern supervisor
- follow-ups and assistance from a Polytechnique PhD student on sustainability themes
- 5 hours of consulting during the semester with one of the sustainability advisors of Polytechnique
- 3 coaching meetings with a network of experienced engineers, not on the technical or scientific aspects of the internships, but rather on the soft skills, and to assist in the reflection process of the students, to help them formulate recommendations based on observations and to assist them in getting the most of their work experience and boost their professional development.
