The Fund for Sustainable Initiatives (FID) encourages the student and faculty community as well as Polytechnique staff members to carry out projects related to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Action Plan. The FID has a budget of around $10,000 to $15,000 every year.
A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:
Every year, the jurors are nominated by the CODDEP - Comité de développement durable de l’École Polytechnique (Sustainable Development Committee of Polytechnique Montréal) for a one-year mandate to form the Evaluation Committee of the Fund. The Committee is chaired by one of the sustainability advisors. One seat on the committee is reserved for each of the financial partners of the Fund.
