Polytechnique does not collect information regarding off-campus community service initiatives from students and/or employees. For students' service and involvement at Polytechnique, Polytechnique has developed "Action Poly", a recognition program where students can be rewarded with bronze, silver, gold or platinum levels of commitment during a special ceremony.

Since Polytechnique Montreal does not formally collect information nor data on community service initivatives on or off campus, the number of student nominees with a complete file for Societal Commitment Grants for year 2021-2022 has been taken into account. This number is extremely conservative. The number of bachelor's degree undergraduate students is for the Fall 2021 semester.
