Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

The methodology for this indicator has been modified in 2020-2021 to be more automated and to analyze the indicator more objectively. This is now a keyword search using a tool developed in Excel. The data file is obtained from the IT department. It includes the courses of the three-year plan and the elements included are: coure acronym, the sector (undergraduate-BA, post-graduate-ES, continuing education-EP), course title, course description, the term at which the course is given and the time code of the course.
The list of courses is "cleaned" in order to eliminate the code of courses which are non-credit examinations ("I"), the English versions ("E") of an existing course in French, as well as the on-campus versions ("P") that also have an online version. Courses that have different versions (“A”, “B”, “C”, “D”, “J”, etc.) are all retained and identified as different courses. The tool searches for keywords in the description and in the title of the courses. Courses with the keywords identified in the description or in the title are considered as courses in sustainable development or addressing notions of sustainable development. A verification is carried out with a comparison with the results of the previous year and the added courses are validated.
The percentage of continuing education courses that address SD is calculated from the number of courses that address SD out of the total number of continuing education courses.
