A brief description of the diversity and equity committee, office and/or officer, including purview and activities:
The Service aux étudiants de Polytechnique (Polytechnique Student Services) has one advisor dedicated to international students and one advisor for students with disabilities. They are available for consultation and offer support and advice. Students with disabilities are followed through their entire study program. Every fall, a cultural workshop is made available for international students to help them with their integration in Quebec (it includes advice for their student life on campus, life in Montreal and in Canada in general).
Since 2017, Polytechnique has a Diversity and Equity committee composed of professors, managers and HR advisors to work on ways of attracting more women, visible minorities and persons with disabilities among faculty members, particularly among the research centers and chairs.
