Performance Year | May 1, 2017 | April 30, 2018 |
Baseline Year | June 1, 2004 | May 31, 2005 |
If end date of the baseline year/period is 2004 or earlier, provide:
We are using the same baseline year as for the energy greenhouse gas emissions criteria. It corresponds to the year just before opening the new Lassonde buildings, which is are LEED Gold certified buildings. Since then, many efforts have been deployed to considerably decrease Polytechnique's water consumption.

A brief description of the institution's water recovery and reuse initiatives:
---
A brief description of the institution's initiatives to replace plumbing fixtures, fittings, appliances, equipment, and systems with water-efficient alternatives (e.g. building retrofits):
In the last 15 years, water consumption at Polytechnique has been divided by 3. The main reason for this important decrease is the replacement of equipment by more efficient equipment (in terms of water consumption). New toilets have been installed, but some important changes also come from modifications in laboratory equipment or procedures, and from the installation of many new HVAC systems. When a change of equipment is needed, the efficiency in terms of water use is always considered.
