The College's Committee on Sustainability mission is "to work in conjunction with relevant campus groups and institutions to propose projects and policies that promote reduced resource consumption and environmental sustainability at Pitzer College and
the Claremont Colleges. It will create a comprehensive plan for enhancing campus sustainability, and will oversee and evaluate programs and policies that foster the development of an environmentally sustainable campus."

Committee Composition: Two elected student members, Two appointed faculty members , Two appointed staff members, Director and Assistant Director of the Robert Redford Conservancy for Southern California Sustainability, and the Associate Vice President of Facilities.

The Pitzer Robert Redford Conservancy for Southern California Sustainability has 3 employees supporting sustainability, Facilities has 1 person, and the Office of Student Affairs has 1 person supporting sustainability. All 3 departments support the sustainability effort, from academics, community involvement, student run initiatives and programs, and maintenance and construction. Additionally fellows are support the effort and participate in lectures and activities.

Redesigned and expanded the student garden and added a chicken coop
-Re-Launched the ReRoom & ReSource Initiatives
-Developed new signage for all outdoor recycling bins
-Developed new signage on food waste and composting
-Redesigned the Sustainability website
-Launched SustainablePZ Twitter account
