Pitzer is situated adjacent to 7 other colleges in what is called the Claremont Consortium. The Redford Conservancy collaborates frequently--first, the assistant director of the conservancy is engaged in mentorship with regard to sustainability reporting and sustainability programs. Second, the director of the Conservancy frequently engages faculty from various colleges in community initiatives, grant proposals, and funding opportunities.

Currently we are collaborating with the other colleges on a business interruption protocol in case our electricity goes down, but also on our green bike program, our energy reduction program entitled power down which is a collective effort amongst all the colleges. Also the office of sustainability take part in regular meetings with sustainability staff from the surrounding colleges to advance sustainability in the region.
