Department Based Training

A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):
The Assistant Director of Sustainability meets with each sub department leader, as well as student leaders of the facilities department to assist with best practices, project planning and training of sustainable concepts that are missing and can be integrated into our facilities. The departments are as follows but not limited to.
Construction
Maintenance
Operations
Grounds
Custodial and building maintenance
He trains these individuals to go out and train the people under them in different aspects of sustainability as they pertain to each department. The assistant director is qualified through many layers of experience and education holding a MBA, Electrical Contractors license, California LIghting controls professional certificate, and numerous other certificates ranging from HVAC to grounds and water conservation. Again these individuals take that knowledge and train their employees on the aforementioned topics

A brief description of the employee educators program’s target audience (1st program):
The Assistant Director meets with each department on current practices and provides educational resources on how we can improve our practices, including an advisory role on current grants or funding that may incentive sustainable change over. real examples are using green cleaning solutions in our facilities, upgrading our current controllers to controllers with leak detection and remote access capabilities, upgrading our mechanical systems, more drought tolerant landscape and the conversion of non functional turf to a more drought tolerant landscape.
