Redford Conservancy Fellows
A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
The Redford Conservancy Fellows are a diverse and passionate team of Pitzer students who are committed to collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches to environmental sustainability, the longevity of Southern California’s natural environment, and the well-being of its peoples. This year, Fellows are coordinating an environmental speaker series, engaging Pitzer students in co-curricular sustainability programming, conducting outreach to local communities on issue of environmental justice, and participating environmental and sustainability community education.

A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (1st program):
The fellows engage all incoming students as well as current students and are amongst our most environmentally passionate students at Pitzer College and appointed to the position. The fellows work on innovative sustainability projects that engage students, faculty and staff; and community partners, and members of the community.

2nd program
ReRoom Initiative
A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):
The ReRoom Initiative consists of paid student staff selected by the Assistant Director of Sustainability. These students educate their peers around issues of waste and recycling and coordinate a campaign for donations of used items from students, faculty and staff at the end of every semester. These items are collected and held in storage until the next fall, when they are resold to returning and incoming students, thereby averting tons of waste from the landfill and providing a low-cost alternative to buying commonly used residence hall items new.
A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (2nd program):
The target audience is all Pitzer students who area able to bring their gently used dorm furnishings, books, small appliances, light fixtures, hangers, which are then resold at a minimum cost to incoming freshman and sophomore students as well as other students.

Garden and Chicken coop
A brief description of the student educators program (3rd program):
The Garden and Chicken coop is run by 6 paid interns under the supervision of our Advanced Research Fellow maintain the coop and garden and plant a variety of garden foods, the food is harvested as well as the chicken eggs and then given to one of our student run restaurants for use. The students also do presentations about the garden as classes are brought to learn about the way the garden and coop benefit the college and the benefits of sustainable gardening and harvesting as well as composting.

The target audience for these students are other students, faculty as well as tour guests when they come to visit the school.
NOTE**They do not have a dedicated website, I included the sustainability website you will notice that the garden is listed as a club, the students are paid and I can send you something from payroll if you want to verify. the garden is talked about all over the Pitzer.edu site though

Additional programs
The Robert Redford Conservancy Fellows have developed a leadership structure that helps foster and cultivate new emerging environmental innovators. The head Fellows seek to provide guidance and for Fellows who are working on various environmental projects.
