A brief description of how and when the cultural assessment(s) were developed and/or adopted:

Environmental Sustainability is one of Pitzer's written core values, we embed this in our students every step of the way regardless of their major. Initially during our prospective student tours we talk about our student run garden, chicken coop and student run dining services as well as our acres of drought tolerant plants, energy generating cardio equipment and our long list of sustainability based courses and programs.

Sustainability is embedded in Pitzer's DNA and during the tour guests are asked questions and knowledge assessed, during the course of their tenure by virtue of participation which is very large amongst pitzer students different areas of sustainability are measured and taught.
