Pitzer does not currently have the water metering technology installed to accurately measure wastewater flows. In the College's first GHG emissions report, a consultant worked with students and the Facilities staff to arrive at a wastewater generation rate of 42%. Using that rate as a best estimate, the amount of water purchased was multiplied by 0.42 to arrive at the number reported above.
Pitzer is currently researching water metering technology options.
