In 2018 Penn State’s University Park campus was awarded a Level II Accreditation by The ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Arboretum for achieving particular standards of professional practices deemed important for arboreta and botanic gardens. http://arbnet.org/morton-register/pennsylvania-state-university-university-park
In 2018 Penn State become the 55th educational institution in the nation to be certified as an affiliate of the Bee Campus USA program, recognizing its efforts to improve its landscape for pollinators.
