The University is working to sustainably manage its growing transportation demands by switching to alternative fuels, reducing oil consumption, increasing the fuel efficiency of fleet vehicles, and encouraging the use of public transportation.

Penn State's Office of Physical Plant's Fleet consists of 568 licensed vehicles. The campus also operates an in-house rental service for day and long-term vehicle rental by PSU staff and units. Fleet Services consists of 526 vehicles. It is Penn State policy for staff to utilize Fleet vehicles in lieu of personal vehicles for University business.
