A brief description of the institution’s community garden:

The Penn State Community Garden was founded in 2009 and has since grown into a diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students, faulty, staff, and community members interested in organic gardening in State College. It is an official student club and a part of Penn State's Sustainability Institute. The garden is located on campus on the grounds of the Sustainability Experience Center. The site features 98 10' x 15' plots surrounded by fencing, composting facilities, a tool shed, access to water, and a pollinator garden. Membership is on a first-come, first-served basis, and all members are expected to contribute toward maintaining common spaces and facilities, as well as their own plots. Free educational workshops and events are offered to the public throughout the growing season.
