A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
Every new Finance & Business staff member is required to attend a four hour orientation workshop that includes sustainability, ethics and diversity training. The Sustainability Institute staff offer a 30 minute session covering: What is Sustainability, how this concept plays into decision making, and resources. There are 3,000-5,000 Finance and Business employees. This kind of orientation is optional for other departments at the university.
The Sustainability Institute is developing an online module on sustainability for New Employee Orientation, that will be available to all new employees.
New faculty orientation includes some components that are included in the broader definition of sustainability - e.g., diversity - but currently it does not address sustainability per se.
