A brief description of the diversity coordinator's position:
The director is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and direction for all aspect of equity and diversity on campus. A particular focus shall be to respond to the challenges and opportunities impacting underrepresented and protected groups and to promote equity and compliance with federal non-discrimination, equal opportunity and anti-harassment standards. The director is responsible for furthering partnerships with communities of color; advancing multicultural goals and equal opportunity; and promoting the participation of diverse constituents to enrich the campus community. The director works closely with university administrators, faculty, staff and students on campus including the provost’s cabinet, Student and Academic Affairs, Human Resources and the various faculty and staff advisory committees.
