A brief description of how representative samples were reached (if applicable) and how the cultural assessment is administered:
The surveys were given out to students in a University 101 class. The pre-test was administered at the beginning through the use of Google forms. The students in the class answered the form and were then shown a Powerpoint on sustainability. Afterward, the post-test was taken, which was the same set of questions in the pre-test. The goal was to see how effective the Powerpoint was in informing students about sustainability.
A brief summary of results from the cultural assessment:
For one of the questions asking how many pounds of trash is created in NYC in a day, in the pre-test, 46.7% of the class got the correct answer but in the post-test, 93.3% of the class got the right answer.
