A brief description of the carbon sinks, including vendor, project source, verification program and contract timeframes (as applicable):

We purchase a portion of our energy through Recharge NY which utilizes renewable hydroelectric power in New York State. This is verified by NYPA, the New York Power Authority.

Start date Jan. 1, 2018 Jan. 1, 2016
End date Dec. 31, 2018 Dec. 31, 2016

A brief description of when and why the GHG emissions baseline was adopted:

We adopted the baseline year of 2016 while working with the New York City Office of Sustainability.

A brief description of the institution’s GHG emissions reduction initiatives:

We have enlisted an energy conservation consulting firm to help us reduce energy usage while the buildings are unoccupied. This strategy has been extremely successful and has led to energy savings in over $1.1 Million per year
