Yes

The charter or mission statement of the committee or a brief description of the committee's purview and activities :

Understanding Sustainability and the Role of Higher Education

The formal definition of sustainability is to meet the needs of today without compromising the needs of the future. Given the breadth and depth of expertise throughout an institution of higher learning, sustainable considerations should be incorporated into all facets of operations and academics. We have a responsibility to lessen our footprint and negative impact on the environment to the greatest extent feasible. In doing so, we hope to help secure a healthy and productive planet for future generations.

Pace University's sustainability committee (GreenPace) was commissioned by the Provost of the university in 2008. Our members span the campuses, and include faculty, staff, administrators, students, and alumni. GreenPace is administered by Pace Academy for Applied Environmental Studies, a university-wide Center for Excellence on the Environment.
