Has the institution chosen a sustainability-related theme for its themed semester, year, or first-year experience during the past three years?:
Yes

A brief description of the themed semester, year, or first-year experience:

In the 2009-2010 academic year, our theme for the entire freshman and transfer student class was sustainability. We had a common reading, Unbowed, by world renowned and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Dr. Wangari Maathai, which all these students read. The sustainability themes were woven into first year classes (esp. freshman seminar and English) and there were a variety of related curricular and co-curricular programs throughout the year. Additionally, our Convocation theme was sustainability.

The sustainability-related book that was chosen, if applicable:
Unbowed, by Wangari Maathai
