OSU's Basic Needs Center (BNC) hosts a textbook lending program. The BNC has books for 450 different OSU courses (and more than 2000 textbooks total). BNC also links students to OSU course reserves to increase the number of books available.

Open Oregon State is working closely with OSU faculty members to make college more affordable through the use of free, open textbooks that can be accessed online. There are many open textbooks authored by Oregon State faculty which are currently in use, with dozens more currently in production.
Open educational resources (OER) aim to increase the world’s access to knowledge through open textbooks and reusable digital components. OER at Oregon State is a unit within the Division of Ecampus. Incentive programs include Affordable Learning Grants, plus consultation and services for faculty.
